7 Reasons Why You Should Be Grateful

I was in the middle of nowhere, heart crashed, lost soul, broke and nowhere to go but once, being grateful has taught me lessons that helped me become stronger and gave me another chance to grow.

Here are the 7 reasons to be grateful that will stand you up when you feel like giving up.

1. You’re alive.

“Life is a gift from God”. James 1:17

Most people knew God, yet they don’t accept his truth.

Why? Because the saddest part is, we choose to overlook the true value of life and we are so busy pursuing the things that make us happy. When we fail, everything seems falling apart.

Some pursue those things that threaten own life believing that it’s the reason for happiness, that’s why some of them end up taking their own lives, and they don’t even know how to acknowledge life itself.

If you’re alive, be grateful and appreciate life wisely while you’re still breathing.

2. You have a roof over your head, food to eat and clothes to wear.

It’s good to be grateful when you already got what you prayed for, but the basic things in life are the ones that most important because sometimes most of us strive harder for what we want without giving an appreciation of what we already have.

And by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:14

3. You have access to basic education, and able to read and write.

If you are reading this right now, you should be more grateful. Learning the basic is the best start to do anything, it means you are able to learn and be equipped to live.

The world we live in does not offer a perfect life but knowing God and living with His presence, gives us the privilege to feel perfect and experience breakthroughs. Don’t fret, some people are having difficulties to learn but they choose not to give up on your dreams.

Whatever you do, do it for the glory of God.  Collosians 3:17

4. You have lots of choices, the freedom to make your own decision.

What makes a human different from other living things is his own free will. Never let anyone be the reason to change your purpose in life.

God created you to create amazing things! Ephesians 2:10

We are all born to grow for our own choices, to live our own life and fulfill our purpose, just be wise enough how to decide with it. Living is a choice, and so as death for those who do not appreciate it.

5. Have faced and overcome some huge obstacles.

The earth is a huge battlefield. Every day is a challenge, facing obstacle isn’t enough, overcoming it is a new journey to another one. As long as you are fighting with a good heart and clear purpose, you are one step closer to triumph.

In all these things, we are more than conquerors, through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

6. You experience Love

I’ve come to know people who are close to killing themselves. Yearning, grumping about the fact that no one loves them.

Well, honestly, I was one of them. Every day after those night of terrors, dwelling alone without anyone, feeling that I am better off dead, there comes one beautiful morning that I opened my eyes, and saw the people around me.

I’ve seen good people and even those who treated me bad, but then God reminded me what is Love.

“I have loved you with an everlasting Love”. Jeremaiah 31:3

Love is not affection, nor an attachment, nor emotion. It’s a pleasant experience, a relationship, a connection that we have to one another.

In that way, I’ve come to realize how good is God to me, that every time I feel his presence, I knew that his pleasant Love fights for me.

You are precious than rubies. Proverbs 3:15

7. You learn/heard the Truth

Most of us prefer not to hear the truth because most of us were trapped inside our beliefs that “The Truth hurts”.

Tendencies, we become fearful and to overcome these fears, we repress the truth or worst, there comes a time that we choose to reject or deny it just to maintain the present circumstances.

The Truth is God’s word which is written in the bible.

When I choose to listen to God’s word two years ago, I didn’t know that I was about to learn the Truth, and it is literally painful. His words revealed everything that I covered in the long run just to survive. Fears that’s always been there inside me, which made my heart crashed into pieces upon realizing it. But with these pieces of truth, He gave me a new heart to recover from all these destructions. I was reminded by his promises that I could fight with Him through faith.

I restore the crushed spirit of the humble, and revive the courage of those who have repentant heart. Isaiah 57:15

It is a life long process knowing God and every day His words reveal Truth that conquers everything.

I’ve always been grateful every time I hear His word for I am being reminded how to revive my soul and survive from anything in this world.

You are blessed to know him, extend gratefulness by sharing the good news.

The meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away.
